No big rabies news lately

Though apparently cats get rabies more than dogs.
Cats nearly 4 times more likely to have rabies than dogs

Also the first case in 25 years of a Colorado horse with rabies is worrying officials.

Could that statistic be based on flawed logic? A cat may be equally as susceptible to the rabies virus, but cases may be more common. A cat that survives an attack from a fox or coyote may have the virus, where as a fox or coyote would be frightened or intimidated by a dog and hence is less likely to get the virus.

I wondered about this too -- the article didn't say so one way or another, but I'll be you're right, judging by the behavior patterns of the animals involved.
